Bio

The Jazz Catz are two super talented individuals, Boris Guderjahn, born in Germany, and Ryan Sackanary, Born in Cape Town, South Africa. The band has been producing hit after hit since 2017 and doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. With their first album, “Timeless”, they crossed bridges from contemporary to classical music. And with their latest album, “Con Fusion” they have experimented with different and complex sounds, taking the listener on an adventure. The Jazz Catz have been constantly reinventing their musical style all the while staying authentic to their original sound. Their music has harbored fans all over the world and they are on their way to become one of the top jazz bands globally. With three albums already released, and their newest single rising to become a top sensation.

They are multitalented, and compose, arrange, record, and play all their instruments themselves. Boris Guderjahn and Ryan Sackanary have worked tirelessly and unveiled their enthralling new single “Rat Race” on the fourth of May, 2022, which is already on its way to become a major hit. Their authenticity and originality are evident, and has fans addicted to the song already. 

With a spectacular debut and multiple hits under their belt, they were nominated for Mzantsi Jazz Award in 2 categories: Best contemporary Jazz album and Best international Jazz Collaboration. Their immense critical acclaim and popularity amongst listeners is testament to their distinct sound, that takes the listener on a journey of feeling pure joy. Their sound is a fusion mix of a bit Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Weather report combined with pop and classical elements, and their newest single has equal parts of their “signature” sound, and equal parts new and surprising elements to it.
